BYSL Director Of Coaching Message January, 2014
Greetings everyone: This Winter has turned out to be an odd one this year with the bitter cold before the holidays, relatively few snowstorms, and now the snow is nearly gone. But the Spring Season will soon be upon us, and I want to wish every team in BYSL good luck this year.
As always, I will remind all of the coaches that active players and nutritional health during the unsettled winter months will pay off three-fold once it clears, and we move outdoors to compete.
For those teams that are planning on attending State Cup this year: the deadline for entry (with payment) is February 28th this year and Far West Regionals will be in Albuquerque, NM so there is not an option box to attend on the application this year; All teams that qualify for FWR (or even runner-up for Region IV President’s Cup) are required to attend and represent Idaho, so remember to share that information with all of your players and parents so there is a clear understanding of the expectations prior to attending. Good luck to those BYSL teams that will attend (and advance) this year!
For all of our new coaches (and those that have already begun their one-year grace period), District II will once again co-sponsor an annual NSCAA entry-level coaching course this March (21 & 22). Course details have been distributed. For those of you that currently hold the USSF E license and wish to continue your coaching education, IYSA will hold a USSF D course in the Boise area later this year. Remember that better, more knowledgeable coaches make better players!
For more information on the NSCAA Level 4 course, please contact Bobbi Tracy at email@example.com and remember that if you are a BYSL coach working in any of our programs, the league will cover the registration fee for you.
See you out on the pitch!
Charlie Brizzee, BYSL Director of Coaching
