It’s a great time of the year. Our teams will all begin play in the next week or two.
The Schedules for U11/U12 teams and Junior High teams are now available on our website here. All of the U11/U12 and Junior High teams begin games this week.
I will be posting schedules for YDP (U6, U8, and U10) hopefully later today as well. The YDP games begin next week.
Get your registration forms and fees turned in ASAP. The deadline is August 6, 2014 for YDP (u6-u10) and U11/U12. For Junior High, the players just take the registration forms and fees with them to their tryouts.
Forms can be mailed to
410 Memorial Dr. Ste. 201

I will be at Sunnyside Park (at a picnic table near the tennis courts) on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM if you want to drop them off in person or ask any questions.
Just wanted to make everyone aware of some adjustments in our fees for the 2014/2015 seasonal year. These fees were approved by the Board at the June, 2014 Board meeting. The fees for U6 remained unchanged; the fees for U8/U10/U11/U12 and Junior High were increased by $10; and the fees for U13-U19 were increased by $20. Our fees are (and will continue to be) much lower than the fees charged by most other similar organizations in the state of Idaho and as a Board we want to keep the fees as low as possible while actively working to create the best possible soccer experience for our kids.
To see a full listing of the fees we charge for each program BYSL offers go to our “FEES” page.
This past weekend several of our teams participated in the Cache Valley Cup. I don’t know results for other teams yet, though I have heard that BYSL had a great showing. I do know that Kara Peterson’s Revolution team, with guest players from Storm and Lightning, took first place in the U13 Silver division.
Dear Parents, coaches, etc.,
There has been some confusion regarding whether players can register for a BYSL Junior High team while concurrently registering and playing competitively for another affiliate of the Idaho Youth Soccer Association (such as Gate City Youth Soccer League (PVSC) in Pocatello or Upper Valley Soccer Foundation (Madison United) in Rexburg.
IYSA’s rules state: RULE 5. MULTIPLE ROSTERING …A player may not be registered with more than one club at any given time during the seasonal year; however a player wishing to participate in an internal recreation league for one club and a competitive team with another club may do so with the permission of both clubs.
To avoid confusion, and to ensure that BYSL is consistent in its application of this rule with regard to the Junior High League and all applicable players, I presented the following question to the Board of BYSL at our July 8, 2014 Board Meeting: “If a player is registered and plays competitively for another IYSA Affiliate, will they also be allowed to register and play for a BYSL team in the Junior High League?”
The Board discussed the issue and in order to avoid undermining what we believe is the vision and purpose of the Junior High Program, BYSL’s Board set the following policy: “If a player is registered and plays competitively for another IYSA Affiliate, that player will not be allowed to register and play for a BYSL team in the Junior High League.”
If there are questions or concerns about this policy please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
An entry level referee course will be offered on August 15, 16 at the YMCA.
TIME: 6:00-10:00 PM on August 15; and 8:00 AM-3:00 PM on August 16.
